Under the Rug...Two Weeks Passed and it Happened Again...

Have you ever seen something crawling under your rug? The man in the picture is trying to hit it with a chair. It keeps coming back so who knows what it is. It might be a ghost of an opossum or maybe it’s a lump in the rug. No matter what, he wants to get rid of it. Will he catch it or will it get away again?

The   Harp

The Mysteries of Harris Burdick

Brinnng! I was walking down the stream. I heard music. Brinnng! Another one. I walked closer. Brinnng! It was closer. I saw it. The harp is real. It echoed through the forest. Brinnng!!!!!!

Another Place, Another Time...

The wind whistled through the sound of the storm! Their rolling down the train track, wondering what’s behind the mysterious fog? Their hearts are beating out of their chests, wondering what will happen next? They are too terrified to speak, too nervous to move! The one steering the cart is looking straight ahead, terrified! The storm was getting worse. They scream in horror as they are about to reach the mysterious fog!

The House on Maple Street...it was a perfect lift-off

Did you ever wonder where that house on Maple Street went? It went to that dark place in space. Yeah, that guy who owned the house, he was an alien fighter. It was a perfect liftoff. The top light was always on. Why is that top light always on?

Did you ever say bye to the caterpillars? she could sense them saying good bye. while the caterpillars crawled away she started to cry. she knew it was time to say good bye. how hard could it be to say good bye to the  CATERPILLARS?

He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late...

Have you ever seen things that aren’t familiar and coming out of a book? (Except a pop out book, of course). There was one girl who wanted a book, but a man said she couldn’t have it.  But she got it any way. So she read the book and fell asleep, then something bad happened. Vines started to come out of the book. What will happen next? You may never know!?

Hooks and Conclusions

We have been working very hard on creating a good hook and finishing our story with an equally awesome conclusion.   We used the story, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick to practice our inference skills and organization in our writing.  Check out our marvelous hooks and out of this world concluding sentences!  I will post a new paragraph each day! Be sure to look back and check out our blog on a regular basis!  All pictures come from:

The Floating Chair
I remember the time I saw the floating chair. I was walking in the house, when I heard the screams. I looked around, and saw no one. I looked up and saw a chair… a floating chair. “Help me!” screamed a woman. I wondered how she got up there. Peculiar, so peculiar. What is going on? I screamed for help, and then a miracle happened. The chair came down! The woman stepped off, and the chair disappeared! All of my life, no day has been crazier than that one. The floating chair will remain a mystery forever.
